Mk 11:23 “For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou remove….and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.”
A fourth Greek word that can be referred to in this passage is “Epico” which means “holding forth”, “to speak at length” or “in a concentrated manner” so as to impose God’s word to bear on a situation. God wants us to know that speaking right is instrumental to choosing what He has for us. If we don’t speak, then our silence is consent to our situation.
Deut. 30:15,19 “See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil… therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:” The choices we make are not for us only but also for our seeds, but how do we choose life?
Prov.18:21 “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” The way we choose is through the words of our mouth and as children of God there come a time when what we say determines what we have.
Num. 13:32-33 “And they brought up an evil report of the land saying… is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof… there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak …and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.”
Up to this point, the report they brought was what they had seen, but it became an evil report when they chose not to receive what God has laid out before them, with the word of their mouth, and they had exactly what they said. Everyone comes to a place where they will have to choose for themselves, why?
Rom. 4:16 “Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all.”
For the benefits of grace to accrue unto us, it would have to come on the platform of faith; this is to bring it within our reach, for it to be guaranteed to all seed because God has no intention of leaving us out of the promises.
Rom. 10:5 “But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, who shall ascend into heaven? For there to be a right standing that comes by faith, we have to speak; the righteousness of faith speaketh!
Ps. 81:10 “I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide and I will fill it.”
The word ‘open thy mouth’ literally means ‘speech’, and the word ‘wide’ means ‘enlarge’, putting these two words together; we have “enlarge your speaking”.
We shall be silent no more!
