ARE YOU LIVING UNDER THE LAW OR UNDER GRACE? Rev. Elekima Ekine

“For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ”. John 1:17

“For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness for anyone” Romans 10:3

What is the law and what is Grace ? The Bible puts it in one word – what the law is. Romans 10:5 – “For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them”.

What the law says is you live by what you do; in other words you live by your performance. We live in a performance driven world, we live in a world that defines people by what they do. And so because we live in such a world, people have that mentality and they bring it into the kingdom of God. But God says I have not called you here to live by what you do, but to come and live by what I have done.

Galatians 2: 16 “… for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified” – so when you talk about law, you talk about flesh, you talk about works.

There is a connection between the law, flesh and works. The law brings forth works of the flesh, when a man is working things out from the flesh, he’s working it out from the flesh by the law.

Law makes flesh to work. The law is of works. That’s what defines the law that is why the believer, the new testament believer will be frustrated because you are trying to get things by works, and God says it is not by your works anymore, it is by faith lest any man should boast.
