It is our belief in Christ Chapel that it is up to the Church to pray God’s will into the earth because Jesus says: “I will build my Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the Kingdom of heaven”. (Matthew 16:18-19). Jesus has given us the authority to release His will on earth through prayer.
“And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.26 And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed.27 And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the LORD your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed”. Joel 2:25-27
‘After you have suffered a little while the God of all grace who called you by the messiah – Jesus to His eternal glory will restore you establish you , strengthen you and support you…” 1 Peter 5: 10 ( ISV)
Looking at the Hebrew word In Joel 2, the word for restore means to be complete, to be sound, to be finished, for the work to be finished, to make safe, to make whole, to make good. To be uninjured, to make an end of something and it also means to recompense, to reward.
The purpose of this restoration is that God wants to make you complete. He wants to perfect you. He wants to finish what he has started, to make an end of it.
In I Peter 5, the word means to make complete, sound, mend something which has been broken, to repair, to equip, to put back in order, to make one what he ought to be, to complete one, make one what he ought to be. What you have been struggling to become – God says He is going to make it happen for you. It means to complete thoroughly.
To complete you thoroughly, that’s why I said it is more than God just putting a little bit back. He is doing it in such a way that it becomes whole, that what is missing is put back whether it is material, spiritual, financial, and relational. Whatever it is, he says am going to complete you thoroughly.
And to do that, if he has to repair, he repairs, if he has to mend, he mends.
For 2017, God will perfect that which concerns you.
In 1 Sam 9. When you look at Saul and how the scriptures describes him, you will think what is missing in this person’s life? Seems like nothing. On the surface nothing but you know what’s missing? His destiny.
He went looking for his father’s asses and in looking for the assess he came into the place of his destiny; God has chosen him to be king over His people but he did not know it, he was not told, he probably did not have an inkling of it , but he went looking for asses and in looking for assess he located his destiny. His destiny was put on him, he was brought to the place where kingship was put on him and he ruled for some years.
But how did he get there? He was looking for something lost.
Peradventure what has been missing in your life is setting you up for you to enter destiny in 2017.
