It is our belief in Christ Chapel that it is up to the Church to pray God’s will into the earth because Jesus says: “I will build my Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the Kingdom of heaven”. (Matthew 16:18-19). Jesus has given us the authority to release His will on earth through prayer.
“Behold a virgin shall be with child, and bring forth a so, and they shall call His name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.” Matthew 1:23
Many messages can be preached from the passages relating to the birth of Jesus. But I believe there is what can be regarded as the core message of them all. The passage reveals the core of the Christmas message, it is a passage that reveals the testimony of those who have met with the Saviour now testifying what they have found.
What did they find? They found Him to be Emmanuel, that is “ God with Us “ this means they have come into the experience of why they are save d and that is to have the abiding presence of God with them. This name was not what God gave unlike the name Jesus, this is a name ‘they” shall call Him. They who? – They the redeemed ones.
You see God created us so that He could be with us that was why in Eden, He came and walked with the man and woman He made, just to be with them.
When He formed the nation of Israel He said, “I will walk among you and be your God” (Lev. 26:12).
When Jesus appointed the twelve, the scriptures said He ordained twelve that they might be with Him. (Mark 3:14).
When Jesus was in the house of Mary and Martha, He referred to Mary choosing to be with Him as the good and needful thing.
This Christmas, remember the core thing: GOD IS WITH YOU!!! And He wants you to be with him in fellowship. Even as you look forward to the new year “ God With You” is a major key to experiencing VICTORY.
“And the Lord was with Joseph and He was a prosperous man…” (Gen. 39:2)
Have a Merry Christmas and a Victorious New Year.
