It is our belief in Christ Chapel that it is up to the Church to pray God’s will into the earth because Jesus says: “I will build my Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the Kingdom of heaven”. (Matthew 16:18-19). Jesus has given us the authority to release His will on earth through prayer.
IICor.4:13, 14. ‘We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed and therefore have I spoken, we also believe and therefore speak. Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise us up also by Jesus and shall present us with you”. Message bible says “And what we believe is that the One who raised up the master Jesus will just as certainly raise us up with you, alive”.
It is Easter! The celebration of the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ- The scripture say Jesus was declared to be the Son of God by His resurrection from the dead(Rm1:4).The message Bible rendering of that passage states that Jesus Unique identity as Son of God was shown by the Holy spirit when He was raised from the dead. The purpose of the resurrection is clear, it is to demonstrate clearly that Jesus was and is the Son of God. It was not enough that He died on the cross and went to hell. All that accomplished was to satisfy the penalty of sin, the price was fully paid by Jesus death on the cross and His decent into hell for three days and nights.
But if Jesus did not rise from the dead we will not be able to overcome the pull of sin. So Jesus being raised from the dead means he was separated from the power of sin and all it represents.” For He that is dead is freed from sin. Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him, for in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, He liveth unto God.”(Rom6:7, 9, 10)”. How does all this affect you and me? “For if we have been planted together in the likeness of His death, we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection, Rom.6:5.
This is what the Apostle was referring to in our text, bringing it to bear on his present prevailing circumstances, described in II Cor4:8-12.“We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. For we which live are always delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh. So then death worketh in us, but life in you.”
These are situations of despair, perplexity, persecutions and troubles. He s aid we are certain, that since Jesus was raised from the dead. We also shall be raised up. What was the basis of his confidence? The RESURECTION! If Christ was not raised from the dead then our faith is in vain, faultless and without effect. Thank God there is a resurrection! thank God Jesus rose from the dead! therefore he will raise you up too! Get ready for your resurrection. This is your season for resurrection. Hallelujah!
